For health, safety, and site compliance, the 9 Ton petrol log splitter has a Noise Pressure Level of 88.1 dbA under no load, and 93.0 dbA when operating under full splitting load.

This is commonly caused by the spool valve sticking, often after a period of storage.

• Follow the long control rod down the back of the machine to where it enters the black cast valve.
• Apply WD40 generously directly onto/into that valve.
• Work the control levers up and down vigorously to work the lubricant in.
• This may require a few applications to fully free the valve.

1. Remove the Axe Head: Disconnect the ram piston linkage. This is found by removing the two black plastic grommets at the top of the axe head box section. Behind these, you will see the connection point.
2. Lift Out: Once released, lift the axe head out of the main body of the log splitter.
3. Locate Sleeve Kit: Looking down into the main body, you will see the sleeve kit bolted to the inside of the box section.
4. Remove Old Kit: Unscrew these from the body (screws are located from the inside of the machine). Note: Keep these screws safe unless you have replacements ready.
5. Install New Kit: Screw the replacement plastic plates back into position.
6. Reassemble: Reinstall the axe head box section, reattach the ram piston linkage, and finally replace the plastic grommets.
